The Grid Welcomes Bored Ape Yacht Club Avatars in New Update

Ape Style Takes Over the Battlefield

Gunzilla Game

Gunzilla Games, the developer behind the blockchain-powered battle royale game Off the Grid, has rolled out exciting new content inspired by the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection. The update, launched as part of the special “Ape-ril” event, is currently available for players who are part of the game’s Pro Tier subscription.

The BAYC-themed update introduces character skins, weapons, and emotes based on the playful and rebellious vibe of the Ethereum-based Bored Ape NFTs.

What’s Inside the BAYC Pack?

The content bundle includes:

  • 🧍‍♂️ Two avatar skins with unique Bored Ape designs
  • 🔫 Two custom weapons with Ape-themed details
  • 🕺 Two animated emotes reflecting the Bored Ape attitude

All of this was designed to give fans of NFTs a new way to show off their style in-game.

A special cosmetic item called the “Ape-fool Mask” was also released on April 1st as a one-day exclusive. Players who completed a match that day were able to claim the mask. It’s no longer available, making it a rare and collectible in-game item.

Gunzilla’s Web3 Expansion: $GUN and GUNZ

The new update comes on the heels of the launch of Gunzilla’s own blockchain, GUNZ, built on Avalanche (AVAX). Alongside the network, Gunzilla introduced its native token called $GUN, marking a significant step toward integrating Web3 tech into Off the Grid.

However, at the moment, the gameplay is not yet blockchain-integrated, and the $GUN token isn’t functional in the game. Gunzilla’s Web3 lead, Theodore Agranat, confirmed that connecting Off the Grid to GUNZ is a top priority, although no official timeline has been shared.

Token Performance and Market Status

After the initial launch hype, $GUN has seen a drop of over 50% from its highest point. It is now trading around $0.043. Despite its modest circulating market cap of $26 million, the fully diluted valuation ranks it above other Web3 gaming tokens like ApeCoin and PRIME.

What’s Next for Off the Grid?

As Gunzilla continues to expand its presence in Web3 gaming, players can expect more NFT-based content, blockchain integrations, and token utility in the future. The BAYC-themed update may just be the start of a series of collaborations between Off the Grid and leading NFT communities.

With its bold art, strong brand, and blockchain ambitions, Off the Grid is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Web3 games of 2025.
